It's Looking Like Christmas!

Hello and happy hump-day to you! As the holidays approach (Christmas...I know, right?!) I wanted to jump on here and share a little update with you all about my shop, Little Fox Lettering Co.

First off, what is Little Fox Lettering Co?

Well, if you didn't know already, or follow my lifestyle blog, I am currently a stay-at-home-mom and I consider creativity a spiritual gift that God has given me. I try to express this creativity in many ways from creating resources for my TpT store, writing here and at my other blog, and now venturing into small business with my lettering shop. I believe that all of our spiritual gifts are bestowed upon us so that we may use them to bring joy and happiness to others. I definitely have other gifts, but my creative spirit allows me to connect with a lot of people from all over the place and that's pretty amazing!

I first began lettering since I could hold a pen, but it wasn't until around May of this year that I thought to try and start and share my designs. Inspired by my own little fox, Greyson, Little Fox Lettering Co was born! It took some time, and I'm still a small-time shop, but I am excited about creating pretty things for others to enjoy!

Here's a peek at the holiday options that are currently available - and even customize! So, look no further for something more personalized this gift giving season!

Custom Birch Wood Ornaments

One of my most popular listings, next to the custom pumpkin lettering in the fall, are these birch wood round ornaments! I've had the privilege of creating custom ornaments for a group of moms with children that have Down Syndrome, gift ornaments for dog sitters and walkers, for a boyfriend who just accepted a new job, and a baby who is celebrating her first Christmas! And best yet, I've loved creating each one!

Custom Glass Ornament

These glass ornaments are all hand-lettered by me, then packaged safely in a Kraft gift box. Order them in rose gold or navy - they'll be sure to delight any of your loved ones this year.

Gift Wrap & Address Labels

One of the newest additions to my holiday line over at the shop is this succulent gift wrap! Hand-drawn and printed on the best matte paper, you'll be sure to have one of the best wrapped gifts this year! Succulents are everywhere here in CA and have quickly become one of my favorite plants. They come in different colors, sizes, and shapes - so this year why not stand out a little bit?

Also new to the shop, and featuring this same succulent design, are these custom wraparound address labels! I adore these labels and can't wait to use them for this years' holiday cards to our loved ones. Each order comes with a set of 24 labels, too!

Gift Bags!

The OG of the shop have been these custom lettering gift bags! I've had so much fun lettering these for brides, bridesmaids, holiday parties, goodie bags for events, and so many other functions! And now you can order wine gift bags!

I've loved seeing how my shop will evolve next and it's large in part to each and every one of you! So whether you're shopping for yourself, a loved one, or a special teacher...I'm ready to create something custom and personalized just for you!

Happy shopping!

Our Christmas Card Unveiled 2016

Sending Christmas cards is one of my all-time favorite holiday traditions (see last years). It was even more-so once Philip and I got married two years ago. Every year since I’ve planned and prepared a number of seasonal activities and movies to help get us into the Christmas spirit. From making a list of our favorite Christmas movies, going ice skating (pre-baby), to constructing a gingerbread house, we go all out during the holidays and this year it’s even more special. Greyson adds a level of excitement to this year’s festivities and although he may be too tiny to really know what’s going on, it’s our duty to document it so that these memories live on.

One tradition that is slightly new this year was getting professional photographs taken of our family to use for our cards. I figured it was time to invest in quality family photos (especially wrangling an eight month old and our Murphy-dog). I am so glad that we made that investment because the photos and cards turned out beautifully! Once we received our photos I couldn’t wait to start creating the cards we’d send to our family and friends this year. This years card is especially important because it is Greyson’s first holiday season! Thankfully Minted provided us this opportunity to share with all of you just how great their 2016 holiday card collection really is! So, let the unveiling begin!

Card: Cheers For The New Year

When it comes to our Christmas cards we typically go for a simple design. This year we wanted our photos to be the focus, with a specific focus on our family as a whole and our Greyson baby. In keeping with the woodland theme we also wanted to extend that feeling with a card that encompassed more earthy-tones versus the vibrant colors associated with the holidays. One of my favorite features that Minted offers is their ‘find it fast option where you can place your own photo and watch as it is placed into Minted’s vast selection of holiday cards! It truly makes the decision making so much easier, and faster too, since there are hundreds of cards to sift through.

Another great feature that makes Minted stand out amongst the rest? Their FREE recipient address printing! OMG the days of having to handwrite each recipient name and address are long gone for the Daniel house and I am grateful. Minted offers a number of styles that you can choose to match your card theme or opt for a different design.

Personally, I went with the address printing that matched my theme but to each their own! In addition to my free address printing I selected their wrap return address stickers which are always a favorite of mine and worth the extra dollars. It makes addressing my cards so much easier and while we are living in our apartment (of which we’re moving in the spring) stickers, versus a stamp, is the way to go. But no worries! Minted also offers return address printing too as an add-on.

Christmas Questionnaire 2014

Linking up with Fabulous in First for her annual linky!

When do you decorate?
In a normal holiday season the husband is very adamant about not decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. However, if it were up to me, decorations would be going up in early November. This year, though, I got lucky and was able to decorate because we were going out of town and celebrating Thanksgiving with friends. I explained that, “wouldn’t it be nice to return home and it already feels like Christmas?” *wink*

Elf or no Elf?
Elf on the Shelf seems creepy to me (am I the only one?!) and since we don’t have kids yet we don’t put up the Elf. However, I do look forward to one day taking the time to come up with different mischievous things for him to do. The kids seem to really enjoy this tradition.

Christmas cookies or no baking for you?
Of COURSE Christmas cookies! It’s one of our favorite traditions and usually we go to TX and do cookies with his mom and sister. But, now that we’re staying home we are doing as much holiday stuff together as possible.

Favorite holiday tradition?
We are beginning to develop our own traditions now that we’re newlyweds. See my post here with all my holiday date nights/ traditions. A couple in particular that were really fun was decorating a gingerbread house and going ice skating :)

Favorite Christmas movie?
If it were up to my husband the answer would be Jingle All the Way...but mine is A Christmas Vacation. It’s not Christmas without the Griswolds. Also Home Alone is a definite go-to!

Snow or no snow?
I’ve never had the chance to see snow on or around Christmas but I love the snow. Of course, not so much being in it but I love the ambiance it gives. Just makes you want to cozy up and relax by the tree.

Favorite Christmas song?
Anything Michael Buble! I love his Christmas album and his deep voice...so Sinatra....can never get enough.

Favorite gifts to give and get?
I will always be a fan of gift cards, even if they seem impersonal. It gives me the chance to really get what I want versus the hassle of trying to return or exchange things on the chance I wanted something different. Plus there’s super cute ways to gift, gift cards to others via Pinterest, so there’s a little more thought in it than you’d expect.

A few gift cards I’d love to give and get are:
Stitch Fix
Birchbox
Teachers Pay Teachers
Etsy
VISA gift cards
